UK housing market shows resilience despite bank holiday dip

The UK residential property market recorded 22,100 homes sold subject to contract in the week ending 31 May 2026, with year-to-date sales down 5.6% compared to 2025. Price reductions affected 13.4% of homes in May, above the six-year average, whilst house prices increased 1.9% annually to £349.64 per square foot.
